niśāmya loka-traya-mastaka-jvaraṁ
tam ādi-daityaṁ hariṇā hataṁ mṛdhe
praharṣa-vegotkalitānanā muhuḥ
prasūna-varṣair vavṛṣuḥ sura-striyaḥ

Synonyms

niśāmya—hearing; loka-traya—of the three worlds; mastaka-jvaram—the headache; tam—him; ādi—the original; daityam—demon; hariṇā—by the Supreme Personality of Godhead; hatam—killed; mṛdhe—in battle; praharṣa-vega—by an outburst of ecstasy; utkalita-ānanāḥ—whose faces blossomed; muhuḥ—again and again; prasūna-varṣaiḥ—with showers of flowers; vavṛṣuḥ—rained; sura-striyaḥ—the wives of the demigods.

Translation

Hiraṇyakaśipu had been exactly like a fever of meningitis in the head of the three worlds. Thus when the wives of the demigods in the heavenly planets saw that the great demon had been killed by the personal hands of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, their faces blossomed in great joy.
